You can resupply yourself from the supply pack in Helldivers 2 by pressing the ‘Down key’ on controller or ‘5’ on keyboard.

In a thread with over 700 responses on the Helldivers 2 Subreddit, one player explained how they thought they’d get banned because they were matched with cheaters using the Quickplay feature.

Within the comments on this thread, a member of the development team reached out to say, “Hey! Contact our support through our Arrowhead homepage and they should be able to set your account straight. You can also provide the names for others that were in the game at the time and we can look into their account histories.”

This means that the player will be able to get their account reset to the point before this mission, meaning they don’t have any of the cheated Samples or experience. This is perfect because it means the player won’t be punished for the actions of others.

The support team is incredibly responsive and has been in constant contact with the player base regarding server issues ever since the game’s release. The WAGS (Wives and Girlfriends) of Helldivers 2 is a series of satirical TikTok videos from creator @sarahebaus that aim to explain to the partners of players how they can get certain desired reactions by saying or doing specific things that are hilarious within the context of the game’s lore.

We saw the first video in this series during the second weekend after the game’s release. The video features an amazing list of items that are designed to help the partners of Helldivers 2 players support their loved ones and maybe even trigger a certain outcome if they’re looking for it.

All of these items, such as “Everything is for Democracy” and “They will have trouble getting into the server,” perfectly embody the same sense of humor used in the game. It’s all satire, and none of it is serious. However, we have to admit that we’d certainly love it if our partners used some of these lines and tips because we’re obsessed with the game.

The way @sarahebaus ends this video saying, “You may be enlisted to the game, you may be enlisted to do something else,” says it all and further cement that same sense of humor Helldivers 2 players are so drawn to the game for.

Helldivers 2 Reduced to Mixed Rating on Steam Due to Influx of Negative Reviews

Helldivers 2 has quickly grown to see 500,000 players all logging in and attempting to spread glorious democracy across its worlds within a 24-hour period. The trouble is, the game’s servers weren’t ready for that many Helldivers. Considering the first game had a peak concurrent player count of 7,000, it’s fair for Arrowhead Game Studios to have lower sub-100,000 player expectations for the sequel.

However, last weekend saw fans take to Twitter to criticize the game, calling it broken because they couldn’t get in. After garnering a Mostly Positive review status on Steam, the game has now fallen to Mixed because players have taken to giving it negative reviews due to the fact that they can’t play it.

On the game’s Subreddit, the fan base is debating how fair this is. The discussions are difficult because everyone’s experience is so different. “I watched a stream on Saturday, one person got in right away, played a solo mission, and a second person was able to get in after that. Third person was in the black screen for an hour and a half, and the fourth person finally got into the game nearly 3 hours after waiting, and he maybe got an hour and a half of gaming in before they had to go to another lobby.”

Others believe they’re justified in their negative feelings towards the title despite acknowledging the developer probably couldn’t have predicted this situation. “Yeah it’s one hundred percent fair to be disappointed at this point. I’m not actively mad at the devs like I was with other games that turned out to be half baked trash with a highly pushed premium cosmetic shop, but I’m also withholding my “yes I would recommend this game” review on Steam until it actually works.”

Every step of the way, Arrowhead Game Studios has been open with the Helldivers 2 community. At first, it explained how the team needed to rest following the game’s launch, and that was the priority: not getting more servers running. Then, it offered additional rewards because of the server issues, which caused an influx of players and even more issues.

At the time of writing, Helldivers 2 has 101,421 reviews on Steam. All the early positive reviews are now mixed in with negative one-liners about its servers, though these points aren’t invalid. The situation won’t be resolved until the server capacity can be expanded to host every player who wants to jump into the game. For the most part, they know the foes they face consist of giant bugs and machines, but little else is explained to them. This means that players must butt their heads against steel and carapace until they understand their foes and what their weak points are. All Terminid Enemies in Helldivers 2

The Terminids are the most well-known Helldivers 2 enemy. They’re a race of colossal insects that burrow underground and burst up onto the surface to create nests or just make life generally unpleasant. Below, we’ve listed every creature in the Terminid scum’s roster and how best to take them down.

Scavenger

The Scavenger is the smallest footsoldier of the Terminid swarm. Each one is an insect roughly the size of dog. While their attacks are weak, they can annihilate even the most loyal of soldiers if they get together and all chew at once.

Weaknesses

Scavengers are weak to anything. A pistol or submachine gun bullet is more than enough to put them down. We always keep our secondary weapon equipped while running between objectives because it’s easy to decimate a gang of these bugs as they roam without ever having one of them get close.

Flying Scavenger (Name to be Confirmed)

The Flying Scavenger (name to be confirmed) is a version of the Scavenger that can fly and launch itself at players. There’s nothing more to it than that.

Weaknesses

The Flying Scavenger, much like its flightless friend, is weak to all bullets. Shoot it with a secondary weapon to take it down quickly and avoid getting swarmed by too many of them.

Hunter

The Hunter is a quick Terminid enemy that can launch itself at players from a distance. These bugs can slash and have a huge attack range that even makes diving out of their way impossible.

Weaknesses

The best way to kill Hunters is from afar and as soon as they’re visible. They like to dodge out of the way of the crosshair before diving at players, so it’s best to spray and pray. If they’re clustered together with other enemies, grenades will always work, but they don’t take many bullets to be killed. A pistol or submachine gun will do the trick.

Secret Hunter (Name to be Confirmed)

The Secret Hunter (name to be confirmed) Terminid is a larger version of the Hunter that can hide in plain sight. It has active camouflage, so it’ll sneak up on players and then rip them to shreds with one or two attacks in an instant. This enemy is the bane of our entire Helldivers 2 experience, and we are genuinely terrified when we see it lurking.

Weaknesses

These enemies go down pretty quickly to shotgun or assault rifle fire. The issue is seeing them to kill them. Their camouflage shows up well in smoke, but everywhere else, they’re practically invisible. Placing mines is a great way to prevent them from getting near a squad, and watching the horizon while exploring will help prevent them from sneaking up on anyone.

Warrior

Warriors are the smallest of the large Terminids that will attack players in Helldivers 2. While they’re big, they don’t do anything special, unlike their counterparts. Their role in the swarm is to attack anything that’s deemed a threat, which is why they’re so abundant.

Weaknesses

To kill Warriors, players need to shoot them with whatever they have. We’ve found that shotguns are the most effective weapon. Since Warriors are slightly tougher than their Hunter and Scavenger cousins, they take a few more shots to go down. Two rounds from a shotgun at mid-range will blow their heads off, though.

Brood Commander

The Brood Commander is the slightly larger version of the Warrior that’s often covered in the toxic green gunk some Terminids spit. They’re bigger than Warriors, take more damage, and are much nastier in temperament.

Weaknesses

The best way to kill a Brood Warrior is with a shotgun or grenade. They have slightly more armor than Warriors, so it takes more than a few shots to go down. We’ve found that a machine gun works really well on them because it’s got more power than most primary weapons and can deal with these big bugs in a few seconds.

Taking these enemies down head-on should be no problem as long as players deal with them as a priority. Letting them get close is a disaster that will see players thrown around the map and, ultimately, eaten alive.

Hive Guard

The Hive Guard is the largest variant of the Warrior Terminid. Players will know it in every mission in Helldivers 2 because it’s got a massive armored crest on its head. This armor is no joke, and makes this an incredibly scary foe.

Weaknesses

The only way to take out Hive Guards is with heavy weapons such as the machine gun or railgun. One shot from the railgun kills them deal, while the machine gun takes a few more. Grenades and an Orbital Strike work, but players may struggle to set them up while the enemy moves.

If players are running low on ammo, a great tactic we employ is throwing a Resupply Stratagem onto the back of a Hive Guard. This is where all that time spent playing Stratagem Hero pays off. When it lands, it will crush the bug and provide a niche cache of ammo. The only disadvantage to this strategy is having to get close to the Hive Guard.

Charger

The Charger is one of the biggest Terminids players will fight in Helldivers 2. They’re huge, have armor plating everywhere but their lower abdomen, and they rush at players and throw them around the map to kill them. Hence their name.

Weaknesses

There are two ways to deal with Chargers. First, players can throw grenades in the path of one to cause it to run over them as they explode, injuring it multiple times. Then, they can dive away from its charge and shoot its lower abdomen to deal damage and, hopefully, kill it. This also works with throwing an Orbital Strike on the Charger’s back.

However, we have found that the railgun is a much more effective weapon against the Charger. When shot head-on, it’ll take more shots, so try to aim for the exposed abdomen or the side. Each shot will blow off armor plating, making the next one deal more damage. The bottom line with any Charger is to kill it from a distance because if it gets close, everyone is in trouble.

Spewer (Name to be Confirmed)

The Spewer (name to be confirmed) is a small green Terminid that packs a punch. It won’t rush players to bite them like the Scavenger. Instead, it stays at a distance and fires toxic green sludge at them. This bile will burn players and cause them to slow down, allowing more hits to get them as other Spewers sneak up.

Weaknesses

Spewers (name to be confirmed) are weak to bullets, so killing them with any weapon is advised. Shoot them as soon as possible from any distance, and they’ll pop. It’s better for players to stay away from them because of their toxic spit attack, so using anything that’s to hand is necessary instead of waiting to get a melee attack in for ammo conservation.

Bile Spewer & Nursing Spewer

The Nursing Spewer is what the small green bugs grow into. They’re big, have a huge green abdomen, and sound like a cow. They get into range of a player and spray a stream of toxic spit that deals a tonne of damage. We’ve died to this enemy more times than we’d like to admit.

The Bile Spewer looks exactly the same but is orange. Players will often get a mission to kill these creatures, and it seems as though they need to kill the green ones over the orange ones to complete them.

Weaknesses

The best way to take this enemy down is with a machine gun or railgun. An Orbital Strike Stratagem or grenade works too. The key is to kill them before they get close. Heavy weapons make short work of them and keep them from damaging anyone, but explosives will bring them down fast when placed well. Using Super Credits to buy a more powerful primary weapon will help make these enemies a piece of cake. Shooting their sides is the best place because players aren’t exposed to their damaging spit.

Bile Titan

The Bile Titan is an absolutely massive Terminid enemy that towers over everything on the battlefield. It resembles a Warrior, though its limbs are longer, it’s much better armored, and it sprays a long stream of toxic spit on anything that moves.

Weaknesses

The Bile Titan is a mission in itself, so players will have to kill one at some point. To do this, the best method is to have one player distract it and draw it away from where it was stationed. Then, other players can throw grenades and Stratagems in its path. These will slow it down.

Using any weapon, but heavy ones are the best, to damage the Bile Titan by shooting its underside is the only way to kill it. The monster can really take a beating, so players must ensure they have all the ammo and Stratagems they need to battle it before they start an encounter.

This enemy summons others to its aid, including Chargers. That’s what makes fighting it so difficult. However, a squad of experienced Helldivers using tips from this article will know how to take anything down fast, so this shouldn’t be a problem.

All Automaton Enemies in Helldivers 2

The Automaton faction in Helldivers 2 is made up of deadly machines that want to rip players limb from limb. They’re intelligent and feel like they hit harder because they’re made of metal, which is obviously a lot more brutal than a bug bite. Below, we’ve outlined every Automaton enemy we’ve faced so far and our findings on their weaknesses and how to best deal with them.

Dropship

the Automaton Dropship isn’t a threat for Helldivers to deal with. It’s the method through which the enemy replenishes its forces on the battlefield. By dropping more machines onto the battlefield for Helldivers to have to kill, the Automatons have a tactical advantage because they can appear from anywhere.

Weaknesses

Dropships can be taken out with a tonne of firepower. Any sort of Orbital Strike will do, but timing this is difficult. Often, Dropships will be taken out as additional casualties of war because they’re not worth shooting over the dozens of Automatons they drop off.

MG Raider

The MG Raider is the most basic of all Automaton enemies in Helldivers 2. They’re bipedal Automatons sporting machine guns, and that’s it. While they may sound easy to deal with, they pack a real punch with every shot they land.

Weaknesses

The only way to deal with an MG Raider is shooting it. These machines go down quickly but the damage they can deal from a distance is astounding. Players will be surprised at how quickly they can die to a small group of this type of Automaton, and shouldn’t hesitate to put them down with whatever weapon they’re holding.

Rocket Raider

The Rocket Raider Automaton is a variant of the smaller bipedal robots sporting a rocket launcher. They’re just more fodder the Automatons throw at Helldivers in the hopes that a few rockets hit home and kill some of the enemy soldiers they’re battling.

Weaknesses

Just as with the MG Raiders, players should shoot a Rocket Raider on sight with whatever weapon they’re holding. They go down quickly, but that doesn’t make them easy to handle. Those rockets can murder a squad if players ignore them.

Brawler

The Brawler is a small, melee class Automaton that doesn’t deal too much damage by itself. However, as a part of a cluster of enemies, it can be quite harmful. Players need to keep them at bay by destroying them early when they approach.

Weaknesses

Brawlers will go down to any sort of gunfire, but seeing them is the problem. they’re great at sneaking up on players while something else is going on, acting as the ultimate ambush machine. they’re easily distracted though, so pumping them with bullets and then hiding should allow another player to deal with them if ammo is running low.

Berserker

Berserkers are hell. These enemies have dual chainsaws for arms, red lights everywhere, and feel like they’re screaming at Helldivers as they rush them. They’re designed to put fear into enemies, and that’s exactly what they achieve, in our opinion.

Weaknesses

The best way to take out a Berserker is concentrated fire on its glowing red middle part. This is a weak spot that will down it fast, but their rush attack makes it difficult to kill them. Players are better off running away and dropping grenades if a swarm approaches, especially if the Berserkers decide to jumpjet into battle.

Marauder

The Marauder is a well-armored trooper in the Automaton army. It will roam the battlefield in search of targets and throw itself at them while firing with everything it has. Usually, this means gunfire and rockets in unison.

Weaknesses

The only way to down a Marauder in Helldivers 2 is by shooting it with whatever weapons happen to be available. Grenades and rockets are best since it has a tough armored shell, but players can deal damage to its puny head if they aim right.

Devastator

The Devastator is a melee class enemy in the Automaton army that will get up close to Helldivers and maul them to death. Thankfully, they’re easy to spot coming and can’t surprise players too much unless they approach from behind.

Weaknesses

Devastators are slightly more well-armored than Raider enemies, but the best way to take them out is still with any sort of gunfire. Shotguns work best in our experience, but any weapon should do the trick. These foes aren’t quite enough to justify the use of heavy explosives just yet.

Heavy Devastator

The Heavy Devastator is a larger version of the Devastator Automaton with more armor. It takes a tonne of damage to go down and will wreck anything that gets close to it.

Weaknesses

Bullets, bullets, and more bullets are the only way to destroy a Heavy Devastator. They’re a powerful asset in the Automaton army that will quickly overwhelm players if they don’t deal with them. Throwing grenades into an approaching crowd will thin their numbers and make them more manageable, but good old-fashioned gunfire is the second-best option.

Rocket Devastator

The Rocket Devastator is similar to a standard Devastator enemy, except it has a rocket launcher. As with the basic version, it’s best to shoot it with whatever is available to break through its tough armor and shield.

Weaknesses

Blasting the Rocket Devastator with anything players have will bring it down. We’ve seen the most success from launching all our grenades in the general direction of wherever these are coming from. It usually does the job, or distracts them long enough for others to take them out with heavy weapon fire.

Trooper

The Trooper is a soldier on stilts. They’re not that well defended, but they stand above everyone in battle and can fire hundreds of bullets at once, so they’re something players will want to get out of the way pretty sharpish.

Weaknesses

The only way to deal with Troppers in Helldivers 2 is by shooting them with everything available. The Automaton riding the Trooper can be killed quickly to take them down if players are fast. If they’re not, going for the legs is the best option to bring them down. They’re so weak the entire robot will fall if one goes.

Scout Strider

Scout Striders are well-defended Automatons on long legs. They don’t tower over the battlefield, but they do stand at three times a Helldiver’s height, so they should be feared. Their ability to shoot from a distance without taking much damage in return is what makes them deadly.

Weaknesses

Taking a Scout Strider out in Helldivers 2 is easy once players know how. Their legs are their weak points, and if players aim at them with whatever weapon they have, they’ll bring them down fast. We’ve been able to take out a Scout Strider simply by destroying one leg in some missions, showing how flimsy they really are.

Hulk Buiser

The Hulk Bruiser is a close range specialist in Helldivers 2. Its massive size means it can’t sneak up on Helldivers, but it will pack a punch if they let it get too close. The secret to this Automaton’s success is not its mass, though; it’s the power behind every hit it lands.

Weaknesses

The Hulk Bruiser is hard to kill from the front. Instead, players must distract it and shoot it from behind. It has a weak spot on its upper back that will cause it to explode pretty quickly once players land a few shotgun blasts on it.

Hulk Scorcher

The Hulk Scorcher is a large bipedal Automaton that packs a lot of firepower into two arms. One, as can be seen above, spews fire, while the second focuses on other attacks to keep Helldivers at bay. These enemies can take a lot of hits and must be put down with Stratagems, grenades, or anything that deals a lot of damage very quickly.

Weaknesses

As with most large enemies in Helldivers 2, the Hulk Scorcher can be taken down most effectively from a distance with a high-powered weapon such as the Railgun. Failing that, explosives and Stratagems such as the Orbital Strike will bring it down quickly. We’ve found that having one player distract it and draw its fire while others get behind it to deal damage is the most effective strategy.

Shredder Tank

The Shredder Tank is a force to be reckoned with. It’s a tank in the traditional sense in that it’s a vehicle, but it comes into battle packing a giant melee weapon to devastate players with. The thick armor on almost every part of it makes it pretty much impossible to kill too.

Weaknesses

The only way to deal with a Shredder Tank is to get behind it and shoot the weak spot on the back of its turret. That will destroy it fast. However, in a pinch, landing an Orbital Strike on top of it will cause it to explode too, but players need to clear the blast radius if they want to survive.

Annihilator Tank

The Annihilator Tank is a master of war in Helldivers 2. It’s a colossal tank that stalks the battlefield and fears nothing. That’s because of its incredibly thick armor plating through which barely anything can pass. Nothing the Terminids have compares to this. It’s just an unstoppable machine Helldivers must stop.

Weaknesses

The best way to destroy an Annihilator Tank is by throwing countless grenades and Stratagems at it. Anything explosive will deal damage, but it needs to be high-powered or nothing will break its shell. There are a few heavy weapons such as rocket launches that will deal damage, but their single use nature makes them useless on higher difficulties.

It’s possible to shoot the arms off of a Hulk Scorcher while battling it, even leaving it alive without them. This can take precious time and result in a dead Helldiver, though. So players must weigh up how they want to take a Hulk down before they pick a fight with one.

Strategies for Defeating Tanks in Helldivers 2

Tanks are some of the strongest enemies in the entire game, but you can take advantage of cover and bait tactics to take them down effectively. First things first: avoid their non-stop widespread firepower by ducking into cover. Use the peek-and-shoot method to make quick work of them. Make sure you bring the best gear and items as well, and using everything on you, like orbital attacks and airstrikes. You can also have one teammate act as bait to distract the Tank, while the other teammates lay down damage.

Helldivers 2 is a tough game that can be relentlessly cruel. Items like the Jetpack come in handy for maneuvering all forms of danger, making combat and quests a cakewalk.

While the bulk of Helldivers 2‘s gameplay is all about dropping down onto alien worlds and fighting all sorts of alien scum alongside a battalion of dedicated soldiers, it’s also about having fun playing silly games like rock, paper, scissors.

Since its release, Helldivers 2 has delighted players with a fantastic combination of bombastic gameplay and a somewhat hilarious premise, the concept of an entire army of soldiers battling against hordes of humanoid machines and giant bugs. While server issues have hampered the experience in many ways, players have still found fun activities to keep them busy when they do get into the game, be it waiting around for other players while engaging in a thrilling match of rock, paper, scissors, or killing the enemies of Super Earth.

How to Play Rock, Paper, Scissors in Helldivers 2

To play Rock, Paper Scissors in Helldivers 2, players need to equip the Emote and then use it in their ship. Another player must then interact with them to activate the game, after which both will get the option to choose rock, paper, or scissors, and a winner will emerge based on those choices.

It’s a simple minigame that fits well with the others in the game, such as Stratagem Hero. The idea with this Emote is that it gives players a chance to pull off an insane interaction while in the middle of the battlefield. It’s pretty difficult to line up a hug while Bile Titans are spewing acid and chasing players down, let alone a full game of rock, paper, scissors.

It’s unknown if Arrowhead Game Studios will add more Emotes similar to this into Helldivers 2 in the future. Given the game’s popularity and how much players are asking for even more cosmetics to use with their Helldivers, though, it certainly seems likely.

To get the Rock, Paper, Scissors Emote in Helldivers 2, players need to purchase it from page eight of the Helldivers Mobilise! Warbond Acquisitions menu. This is the game’s version of a battle pass where players exchange Warbonds earned from missions for various rewards.

Before unlocking anything from page eight of the Acquisitions menu, players must purchase almost everything from the previous pages. Each page unlocks after a certain number of Warbonds have been spent, so players really need to put in the work if they want this incredible Emote.

Starting out in Helldivers 2 can feel like jumping into a shark-infested pool in the deep end with weights attached to both legs. Enemies are everywhere, and they attack straight away without mercy. That’s why we’ve formulated a few tips and tricks to make the game easier.

When we first launched Helldivers 2, we were lulled into a false sense of security by the tutorial. The most grizzled war hero in the game’s universe told us how good our use of terminals and avoiding bullets was. We felt unstoppable. Then, we dropped onto Heeth and started fighting Terminids and were quickly put in our place. For that reason, and because the game only gets more challenging with every difficulty level, we’ve put together a list of the best tips and tricks to make Helldivers 2 feel easier.

Ten Helldivers 2 Tips & Tricks to Make the Game Easier

Below, we’ve listed our top ten tips and tricks to make Helldivers 2 easier on any difficulty mode. These apply to any difficult level, be it the lowest of easy missions or the toughest Extreme missions and beyond. While not all can be used straight away, players will unlock the ability to do all of them over time pretty quickly, and using the more basic tips will help them get to higher difficulties faster.

1) Stims Replenish Stamina in a Pinch

If players are running away from enemies in a mission and their stamina is depleted, it slows them down. That stamina takes a good ten seconds or so to replenish, which is what will get a lot of players killed in Helldivers 2.

Instead of waiting for a character’s stamina to fill back up while a swarm of enemies is approaching or overrunning the evacuation site, players can just use a Stim. While they’re primarily used to refill health, they also refill stamina and keep players running for longer when Charger or Hulk is closing in with deadly weapons.

2) Orbital Strikes Close Bug Holes and Nests

Helldivers 2 teaches players to use grenades to close Bug Holes and Nests. This can result in them using Resupply Stratagems to call in more grenades so they can close up a Bug Outpost. This isn’t necessary, though, since Orbital Strikes will also collapse Bug Holes and Nests, and they’ll kill more Termanids when they drop, too. Once we learned this, it sped up every mission with Termanids involved.

3) All Automaton Enemies Have Weak Points

The Automaton threat is a faction of advanced machines that will rip players apart. They’re incredibly well armored, but each one has a weak spot. For most, it’s their head, the glowing part with eyes. Others, such as the Hulk and Tank variants, have weak points on their backs that players can shoot to destroy them.

We spent ages firing bullets at every part of Automaton armor we could see to no avail. Then, we saw the backs of these enemies, and it clicked. What helps is getting another player to shoot their back while the Automatons follow a distraction, which might be the player character.

4) Explore the Map in Every Mission for Maximum Rewards

Each mission in Helldivers 2 has a main objective. Players will know this before the drop into it, and they might even see side objectives on the map too. However, in some. instances, they’ll be blind to all but the main one.

For every mission, we encourage players to explore the map as much as the timer allows. If there’s a full 40 minutes to roam, players should use it. There are small points of interest where players can pick up Samples and Super Credits, as well as side objectives that award additional XP. Grabbing all of these will make progression so much faster and make the game feel more enjoyable.

5) Invest in a Shotgun Early

Players can get a shotgun early on by purchasing it with Warbonds from the acquisitions menu. This is a powerful weapon that downs most weaker enemies in a single shot and even some mid-sized enemies in two. We’ve had nothing but success with this weapon all the way up to Extreme difficulty, and all other players should make their lives easier by using it, too.

6) Pay Close Attention to Suit Perks

Some, though not all, suits in Helldivers 2 have perks. These aren’t game-breaking, but they can increase a character’s throwing distance or provide limb protection. These perks are worth paying attention to because they could make missions easier. Try to think about the biggest annoyance in missions, such as limbs breaking and requiring Stims or explosions going off too close, and get suits that help alleviate those troubles.

7) Complete Additional Orders for Extra Warbonds

Each day, Helldivers 2 players will get some additional orders. There’s always a main objective for players worldwide to conquer certain planets. The additional orders usually require players to kill certain enemy types or complete side objectives.

Every side objective awards a package of Warbonds, and these help players get more suits and weapons faster. This will help players progress quicker and make missions easier as a result. There’s no reason to ignore these objectives, and players should focus on them before they do anything else.

8) Don’t Forget to Reinforce

When playing Helldivers 2 with other players in a squad, it’s easy to forget to use the Reinforce Stratagem. This respawns dead players, and it’s incredibly frustrating to be watching a player ignore it while the run around the planet wondering where their partners are.

Every time the Reinforce Stratagem shows up, type it out and throw it. Keeping active player numbers up ensures more enemies are killed, more objectives are completed, and more resources are gathered. This benefits all players and makes missions so much more simple in the end.

9) Buy New Stratagems That Suit Your Play Style

Players can buy Stratagems in Helldivers 2 in the Ship Management screen as soon as they’re back on their ship. There are dozens to purchase, and they’re unlocked as players hit certain levels. However, they’re not worth purchasing if a player won’t use them.

For example, we don’t use gun placements, so we opted for a shield generator instead. This meant we had to wait a few levels to buy our next Stratagem, but it was infinitely more useful once we did buy it because of the way we play.

Similarly, we like to use Orbital Strikes on massive groups of enemies, especially Termanid. So we waited to purchase the napalm bomb that we’d seen others using because it’s so effective. We could have purchased several other Stratagems before then, but by saving, we had the cash to buy exactly what we wanted when it was unlocked. The rest can come after as we earn more currency after hitting level 20.

10) Always Call in a Support Wapon at the Start of a Mission

Last but not least, we have to talk about support weapons. These are the heavy weapon Stratagems, such as the machine gun, that will save every player’s life. These can be called in from the beginning of any mission on every difficulty unless the Automatons are blocking them, and we recommend players use them right away.

These weapons make short work of the larger and more deadly enemies and are refilled from Resupply Stratagems. While a Jetpack is nice, it’s better to have a reliable firearm that will down a Charger, such as the railgun, because players will get through more objectives using it.

One of the first things we thought of when we saw footage of Helldivers 2 was that the game would be better with a jetpack. Well, we’re pleased to report there is one, and players can get it relatively easily if they know what to look for in-game.

Once players get their heads around the way they’re not supposed to die in every mission and use Stratagems tactically in Helldivers 2, they’ll start to think about how they can improve their performance. There’s a plethora of ways to do this, and one we always came back to was that we’d be better with a jetpack. After seeing others using one, we couldn’t work out why we didn’t have one. Then we figured out how to unlock it, and it completely changed the game for the better.

How to Get a Jetpack in Helldivers 2

To get a jetpack in Helldivers 2, players need to open the Ship Management menu whilst on their ship and purchase the Jump Pack Stratagem for their Hangar. This is a support item players will need to call in once they’re already in a mission.

On higher difficulties, it’s much more of a challenge to get the Jump Pack because players generally spawn right next to enemies. However, after dealing with the initial burst of foes to slaughter, there should be time to call down this Stratagem. From there, the advanced maneuverability will help players dart around the battlefield with ease, avoiding incoming attacks and doling out justice with their firearms.

How to Unlock New Stratagems in Helldivers 2

To unlock new Stratagems in Helldivers 2, players need to open the Ship Management screen whilst on their ship. This can be found opposite the area they spawn into their shop when they load up the game or return to it after a successful mission. There are four computers with the word “Construction” on the wall behind them.

Once using these computers, players can use Samples and currency gathered from their missions to unlock Stratagems and upgrade their ship’s systems to upgrade them. This takes a long time to do. After ten levels of playing countless missions, we still only had enough to unlock five Stratagems and one upgrade. While reaching the maximum level in the game might feel quick, unlocking everything there is for the player’s arsenal certainly isn’t.

Every online game-as-a-service has a level cap, and Helldivers 2 is no different. Each level brings a new set of challenges and abilities for players to grasp, but the overall level cap is lower than most might think and for a good reason.

While it takes a decent chunk of time and effort to reach the maximum level cap in Helldivers 2, there is indeed a limit to how high players can push their character. Each level brings upgrades and a sense of progression that’s almost too slow for the game’s difficulty spikes, but multiplayer makes up for that. However, the key to the game’s levels is understanding why the cap is in place and what players get as they grow.

Understanding the Maximum Level in Helldivers 2

At the time of writing, the level cap in Helldivers 2 seems to be level 20. This is based on what most players are seeing as they progress during the game’s launch weekend. However, the cap could be higher or grow based on how many players hit it early and if developer Arrowhead Game Studios wants to raise it.

This level cap may seem low, but it takes a while to get there. We estimate players need an average of two hours per level, making for a 40-hour grind if players are successful in every mission. New difficulty levels are unlocked as players complete missions in each previous one, so it’s not entirely linked to the character’s level.

Players also unlock new gear through currency and items gathered from missions or by completing them, so there’s no incentive to push to max level as quickly as possible. Instead, players are rewarded most for paying attention to objectives, looking after each other, and killing aliens whilst liberating planets.

What Players Get for Levelling up in Helldivers 2

As players level up in Helldivers 2, they unlock access to upgrades. These upgrades must be purchased with Samples and other in-game currency or items earned during missions and by completing multiple objectives within them.

Overall, this provides an incentive to take the full 40 minutes some missions offer to clear out as much of the map as possible and gather everything it has to offer so that more upgrades can be purchased. We love the sense of progression this provides because it makes us feel as though our actions have a big impact on what is a galaxy-wide war.

Even something as silly as getting thrown across a huge distance isn’t offputting because of the way the game’s progression system favors players who look after each other. Calling back fellow players who die means everyone has more firepower and backup for future objectives, so the game feels better to play, and everyone levels up faster as a result.

While online games and games-as-a-service have their advantages with a constant flow of new content and quests, there is one big downside to consider. That downside is the servers being down, and Helldivers 2 players need to pay attention if this happens.

Getting into a new online game is always tricky. There are so many things to consider, such as how often it will be updated, what the grind for new gear is like, and how stable the servers are. In the case of Helldivers 2, it might seem like servers aren’t an issue, but they very much are because of the game’s always-online nature. That’s why it’s good to know if the servers are officially down or not, according to players or the developer.

How to Check if the Helldivers 2 Servers Are Down

At the time of writing, February 11, 2024, the Helldivers 2 servers are up and down for us as we restart our PS5 and try to get into it. We’ve been playing the game all weekend and have had ery few problems, but there’s definitely something funny going on today. The servers aren’t outright down, but they’re experiencing problems.

A recent update from the Helldivers 2 Discord server reads as follows. “The current biggest issues are the game not dishing out rewards properly at the end of missions accompanied with the reoccurring login failures. This is very important for us to fix as soon as possible and as such, we’ve decided to perform server maintenance in about 2 hours (7 PM CET / 10 AM PST / 3 AM JST)“.

the team at Arrowhead Game Studios is working to fix the issue as quickly as possible, but players will ned to be patient. As we’ve pointed out, we’ve already experienced some of the issues mentioned here, so we’re confident that the maintenance is underway. We’ll update this article if anything else of note comes from the server that might impact server downtime.

How to Check the Server Status for Helldivers 2

To check the server status for Helldivers 2, players must see if anything relating to serves has been posted by the game’s official Twitter account. This is where any server outages planned by the development team will be posted about, possibly in advance of the serves going down.

If players find that the game’s servers are down and there’s no word on the official Twitter account, it could mean that the outage is unplanned. The last port of call is the official PlayStation Twitter account, where players will see any alerts the company has posted as the game’s publisher.
