In our testing, we’ve experienced several FPS drops in certain areas, stuttering, and just overall low FPS across the board. However, we’ve come up with the best settings for Final Fantasy 16 to help you improve the game’s performance on your PC.

These were quick display settings to configure how the game will function on your PC. Now when that’s out of the way, let’s focus on the graphics settings for Final Fantasy 16 PC that will impact the game’s performance the most.

• Screen Space Reflections: Off (One of the most taxing settings in FFXVI. However, it will result in a loss of detail in environments. If the trade-off isn’t worth it for you, you can turn it on)

• Bloom Shader: Off (Just an aesthetic effect that you can turn On at a minor performance cost)
• Variable Rate Shading: On (In our testing we couldn’t find any impact on performance with VRS enabled but neither did we notice any changes in visuals)

These were the best graphics settings for Final Fantasy 16 PC port. The overall performance of the game out-of-the-box was pretty abysmal with FPS dropping to 20s in the opening Eikon fight section. With the optimized settings above, I’m able to maintain 75 FPS on my laptop with an i7-11800H CPU, Nvidia RTX 3070 GPU, and 32GB RAM.

Current State of Final Fantasy 16 PC Performance

The Frame Generation option comes in clutch when it comes to providing performance in Final Fantasy 16. In other games, FSR 3’s frame generation induced stutters and latency spikes in games, but not in FFXVI. The FG feature works flawlessly providing a major boost of +20-25 FPS across the board.

There’s especially a huge FPS drop in the Cid’s Hideaway area where they drop to the 25-30 range even with the optimized settings above. You’ll have to progress the story by talking to Cid once to restore FPS back to normal. Hopefully, the PC port will be further optimized by the devs to give a smoother experience to all players.

The Plucky Squire has been on my radar for a while now due to its eye-catching 2D/3D art style and minimalistic gameplay. While the tail-end of the year 2024 is packed with big AAA-games, this one helps cleanse the palate a bit with its refreshing story. So, lets dive into The Plucky Squire review as I attempt to put my joyful experience with the game into words.

Colorful Cast of Characters

The Plucy Squire’s story kicks off by introducing us to Jot, a celebrity adventurer. The tales of his adventure are popular among different townsfolk. The interesting support characters like Moonbeard, Pip and Mini-beard adds a magical touch to the adventure. Along the journey, Jeff will party up with Voilet, a trainee witch and Thrash, a heavy-metal drummer.

After squadding up with the gang, we begin our adventure to take down the evil wizard “Humpgrump.” What starts off as a simple adventure quickly turns into a fourth-wall breaking reality bending adventure. The moment it’s revealed on Jot that his world is all part of a storybook who’s author is Sam, he’s pushed out out into the reality.

After the reality-breaking reveal, Jot’s motivations quickly changes. Stopping Humpgrump from ruining the storybook becomes all the more important, especially when Sam’s drive to become an artist is at stake. Thus begins our adventure through the 2D drawn world of the storybook and the 3D world outside it.

Clever Puzzles Are a Highlight of the Game

There are various types of creative puzzles that will require you to bend the story by changing up words in sentences. Jot and the gang will come across interesting characters that will give a task to our adventurers. Completing those tasks aren’t a side-objective as you’ll need to complete them to progress further.

The puzzles will take Jot across the 2D world of storybook and 3D real life to complete. You’ll need to make clever use of the portals to travel in and out of the two realms. Although most puzzles are quite simple, some require you to brainstorm a little bit to figure out.

These puzzles keeps the game from turning into a slog and presents a welcome challenge to players of all ages. You’ll also find hidden treasures like Art Pieces and Lost Glitchbirds throughout the chapters making exploration rewarding.

Combat Is Simple & Effective

The combat in The Plucky Squire is simple enough. Swing your sword at the enemies to take them down. However, you can unlock new moves and then upgrade said moves to their powerful versions.

In addition to simple strikes, Jot can throw his sword and call it back into his hands like the GOW’s Leviathan Axe. Jot can also jump up and deliver a crushing ground strike with his sword dealing AOE damage to enemies nearby. Players are free to mix different combat moves throughout their adventure and make combat fun.

In addition to simple combat against regular enemies, there are boss fights in certain chapters that are equally fun. These boss fights introduce new fighting mechanics in the form of minigames. Each boss fight has a unique mini-game that you must play to defeat them.

Although these mini-games are an exciting addition to the game, you have the option to skip these entirely.

A Perfect Harmony of Art Style & Sound Design

Saying that The Plucky Squire’s art style is eye-catching is quite an understatement. From start to finish, the game’s character design to environments pop with color. The enemy designs are also quite unique with boss designs being my absolutely favourite.

The game’s soundtrack pairs amazingly with the carefully crafted environments in each chapter which adds to the immersion significantly. My most favourite moment in the game comes in Chapter 6 in Thrash’s rock-themed homeland. The soundtrack flows so well with the what’s happening in the level that you can’t stop but bob your head as you play.

My Verdict for The Plucky Squire Review

After spending hours into The Plucky Squire, collecting all its secret treasures and putting an end to Humpgrump’s schemes, I’ve found the game to be phenomenal. The amazing soundtrack pairs amazingly with the poping colors of the environmental designs. The puzzles are creative and brings immense satisfaction granting you that “Ah-Ha!” moment.

The combat is also an area where The Plucky Squire shines with each boss fight mini-game being distinctive and fun to play. The ability to skip minigames, alongside other accessibility options makes The Plucky Squire a joyride for all ages.

Games like Astro Bot and The Plucky Squire are the need of the hour and brining a lot of joy in the lives of gamers. I would strongly rate The Plucky Squire a 9/10 in this review and highly recommend it to other players as well.

Almost every level in Plucky Squire has puzzles that you need to solve to progress to the next area. One of these puzzles requires you to get past a crevis in the ground using a stack of books. So, we’ll guide you through the stacked books puzzle in Chapter 2 of The Plucky Squire.

Grab the Key & Open the Blue Door

After you reach further into Chapter 2 of Plucky Squire, you’ll reach an area with the stacked books puzzle. Your objective is to cross the crevice in the ground by placing an object in it. To do that, first, head over to the left side of the area and grab the key from the elevated platform.

Once you get close to the key, the red door will block your exit. This will spawn Humpgrump’s minions near you. Take them out to unlock the red door and use the key on the blue door to the right.

Scatter the Books & Stack the Papers

After unlocking the blue door with the key, you’ll spot a sentence on the ground that says “Pages Were Scattered On The Ground.” Strike your sword at the word “Scattered” and it will dislodge from the sentence.

Now pick up the word “Scattered” and head to the center where you’ll spot another sentence that says “These Books Had Been Purposefully Stacked.” Strike at the word “Stacked” and replace it with the word “Scattered.” This will disperse the pile of stacked books in front of you. However, you have’t solved the puzzle yet.

After you’re done scattering the pile of books in the center, pick up the word “Stacked.” Now head to the area with the pages. Here, replace the word “Stacked” in the sentence that now reads “Pages Were Stacked On The Ground.” This will create a stack of pages that you can interact with.

Now all you have to do is drag the stack of pages towards the crevis located where the stacked pile of books was. Once you position the stack of pages on top of the crevis, they will fall. This will create a pathway for Jot and the gang to move to the next area.

You’ll come across several characters in The Plucky Squire, including Topsy the Cat. Topsy is hungry as its biscuits are lost in the ever-changing environment. It’s our job to locate the biscuits and get them to topsy in Chapter 2 of the Plucky Squire. This will help us unlock the door and progress to the next area.

Find the Word “Ruin”

After finishing your conversation with Topsy the Cat, make your way up the stairway onto the platform on the right. Here, you’ll spot the word “Ruin” right next to a sleeping enemy. Take out the enemy grab the word and head back to the main area.

You’ll spot a sentence on the ground saying, “Here Was A Secluded Forest.” You’ll need to strike at the word “Forest” to dislodge it from the sentence. Pick it up and replace “Forest” with the word “Ruin.”

Doing this will change the landscape from a lush green forest to a medieval ruin.

Getting the Biscuits to Topsy the Cat

Once you transform the landscape into a ruin, you’ll see a maze-like structure in front of Jot. Traverse through the maze taking down rats as you move along. After reaching the right-most side, you’ll spot a crate of Biscuits in the top right corner of the area.

You’ll need to drag the crate of biscuits to the area marked in the image above. After you do that, head back to the main area and replace the word “Ruin” with “Forest.” This will change the landscape back to the forest setting.

Changing the area back to Forest will allow you to move the crate even further. You’ll simply need to move the crate to the next patch of ground as marked in the image above. Once you do that, head over to the main area and change the setting back to “Ruin” for the last time.

Once you change the setting one last time, move the crate of biscuits to the area in front of Topsy the Cat.

Once you move it over, Topsy will become happy and roll over to reveal a key underneath. Grab the key up and go towards the blue door to unlock it progressing to the next area.

Each chapter of The Plucky Squire is filled with puzzles to solve and quests to fulfill. One of these puzzles you’ll encounter quite early in Chapter 1 right after you’re introduced to Violet. The first puzzle will require you to swing open a door by finding words needed to complete the sentence underneath it. Here’s how you can find the missing words to complete the sentence and open the door to the first gate puzzle in Chapter 1 of The Plucky Squire.

How To Find the Word “Gate”

Once you approach the gate, a small cutscene will play. The game will introduce you to how words can affect the environment helping you solve puzzles. After that, you’ll spot a bush right below our characters. Swing your sword at the bush to uncover the word “Gate.”

Now you need to let Jot pick up the word and insert it into the first blank of the sentence. This will solve the first part of the puzzle. Now, let’s search for the other word to complete the sentence.

How To Find the Word “Open”

Now head towards the right side of the area and you’ll spot a bunch of purple enemies sleeping. Dispatch them all with your sword. After the area is clear, hit the tree in the middle of the area to dislodge the word “Open” from it.

Now pick up the word and insert it into the second blank to complete the sentence, “The Gate Swung Open.” This sentence will magically open the door indicating how changing up the words in a sentence will affect environmental puzzles.

That’s all you need to do to solve the first gate puzzle in Plucky Squire. Now you can progress to the next area. Make sure to stop by the vendor Martina to grab an Art Piece and any other upgrades. Enotria the Last Song is the latest Souls-like title from an Italian indie game developer built on the Unreal Engine 5. While the game’s aesthetics look quite vibrant, the game randomly suffers from FPS drops and stutters, tainting the immersion. These are the most optimized graphics settings you can use in Enotria the Last Song on PC. Since the game has done a good job of optimizing visuals despite being a UE5 title, the performance can be further improved by tweaking the settings.

On my PC with an i7-11800H CPU, Nvidia RTX 3070 GPU, and 32GB RAM, I achieved 63-65 average FPS with 1% Lows at 55 FPS. If you’re getting a lot more FPS than expected, you can always bump up the visuals a bit. But for now, that’s all there is to know.

There’s been a stark lack of any good Parkour games since Mirror’s Edge or Dying Light. Although these titles were more narrative-focused, I’ve always craved a game that was just dumb parkour fun. Supermoves definitely scratches this itch with its over-the-top floaty parkour action. I’ve been playing the game for quite a while now. Even though couldn’t try out multiplayer due to a lack of players, I still have some fun in the single-player modes. So my Supermoves review will be entirely focused on the single-player component of the game.

Kit Up in the Character Creator

The first thing you’ll be doing after stepping into the menu is creating your personalized free runner in the Locker Room. There’s a rather few selections when it comes to picking a character but you can further change their attributes like upper body, lower body, and hair.

There’s a decent accessory variety like headwear, gloves, and shoes to add a personal touch to your character. If character creation isn’t your thing, you could just choose the Randomize option like I did to create a unique character. You can also unlock other fashion accessories by completing events and earning XP.

Finishing Trials & Races In Variety of Locations

Since I couldn’t go head-to-head with other players in multiplayer, my time with the game was entirely spent in Career mode. The game’s training mode does a decent enough job of showing you the ropes. After that, you’ll go into different regions to complete various races and trials.

The locations themselves are jam-packed with hurdles that you need to sprint through to reach the finish line. You’ll need to complete all the events in one region to gain access to the next. It all leads to a championship where your career mode journey will end.

Chaining Parkour Moves is Fun While it Lasts

The gameplay is fun at best but its flair can dwindle a lot faster than you’ll realize. Sure vaulting over barriers, using your air time to perform a wall run, and chaining it into a super front or backflip is exhilarating at first. However, it quickly becomes stale after a while as you’ll be doing the same moves but in different locations.

My favorite events were the races where you complete laps around the jungle Gym. However, the AI players can become a bit buggy and run into you breaking your momentum. There were instances where I was grinding on rails with an AI character behind me and it pushed me off as it wooshed past me. Even though these incidents were spread far in between my sessions, they were annoying nonetheless.

Other than that, the parkour feels good. It’s a bit floating and animations are unpolished, but it gets the job done. You’ll feel the momentum building up while you traverse through the environment the game gives you different paths to reach your goals. This adds variety to every lap you sprint through.

No Players To Matchmake With Other Than Your Friends

As mentioned before, due to a lack of players in the online lobbies, I couldn’t test the online modes. The game still loads you into an online match but you’re the only one competing. However, you can always invite your friends to the matches and compete against each other which was surprisingly fun.

Even though multiplayer isn’t an option and Career mode is on the shorter side, you can still make your own fun by the level creator. It’s a fun mode where you can craft the perfect indoor or outdoor obstacle course for you or your friends to compete in. I’ve personally had a blast playing it with some of the goofiest amalgamations of tubs, rails, and ramps.

Final Verdict

I think Supermoves lays the groundwork for a super-fun multiplayer parkour game. Right now, the game is no doubt fun to play but it lacks the necessary polish, content, and a lot of bug fixes before it can attract a bigger playerbase. With friends, the game becomes even more fun to play for a good 1-2 hours before you decide to shift to another.

I would rate it 6.5/10 and hope that the game developers further polish the game’s parkour moves, and NPCs, and add more gameplay incentives for gamers to invest their time into it. With the right updates, or probably a bigger budget sequel could turn this into the parkour game players have been waiting for.

After conquering strong foes and braving dangerous lands, the journey of the Destined One finally concludes as he faces his final foe. However, the standard game ending wasn’t satisfying for players. This is why there’s a secret ending that serves as the true conclusion to the game. I’ll show you the steps to get the true secret ending for Black Myth Wukong and face Erlang and the Four Heavenly Kings in this guide.

Unlocking the Secret True Ending in Black Myth Wukong

To unlock the secret ending for the game, you don’t need to finish the game first. After you reach Mount Huaguo in Chapter 6, you can play the secret boss fight from there. However, you do need to uncover all the secret areas in the game first. In addition to this requirement, you must also complete the Treasure Hunter Quest. Let me walk you through all the steps quickly.

Finish Secret Areas in Different Chapters

The secret areas serve as a functional part of the story progression in Black Myth Wukong. The true purpose of each secret area is to provide you with a vessel that aids you in defeating the final boss of that chapter.

There are a total of five secret areas in the game. You need to uncover and complete four secret areas to get access to the fifth one which holds the secret true ending of Black Myth Wukong.

I’ll be sharing all the secret areas across different chapters in Black Myth Wukong so you can uncover them and defeat their bosses.

Complete the “Treasure Hunter” Quest in Chapter 3

There’s an NPC quest in Chapter 3 called “The Treasure Hunter” you receive after saving a lowly traveler from bats. To receive the quest, you should start from the North Shore of Bitter Lake where the Giant Turtle is docked. While facing the shrine, turn back and head along the shore where you find Chen Loong and unlock the Painted Realm NPC hub area.

Saving Traveler from Bat Enemies

Upon reaching the shack where Chen Loong gives you the Painted Realm Scroll, you’ll see a temple entrance on the right.

Heading inside the temple you’ll hear cries of help from a capped traveler. Fight off the bat creatures and talk to the NPC. He’ll tell vaguely tell you about watermelons and treasure. This will begin the Treasure Hunter’s quest.

Using Ring of Fire Spell to Save Traveler From Cold

Now you must meet him again right next to the Towers of Karma Shrine. However, before you exit the Shrine menu, make sure to equip the Ring of Fire spell. While facing the Shrine, go right until you hear the traveler’s shivering words that he needs fire. Get close to him and cast the Ring of Fire spell to give him warmth.

He’ll step into the fire and thank you for saving him from the cold. The Traveler will also mention how he saw a fat child drop off a cliff with a watermelon in hand. After the conversation, you’ll need to head to the Melon Fields.

Fight Against Green-Capped Martialist

To reach Melon Fields, travel to the Forest of Felicity Shrine and take the right path. Keep descending down until you reach the pool of water. From here, head towards the end drop down to the lower platform, and drop into the Melon Fields area. This will begin the boss fight against the treasure hunter named “The Green-Capped Martialist.”

After the boss fights, you’ll receive the Spell Binder spell and also mark the “Treasure Hunter ” quest as complete.

Access The Fifth Secret Area

After you’ve uncovered all four secret areas and completed the treasure hunter quest, head towards the Great Pagoda in The New West (after starting chapter six). If you haven’t been here before, while facing the Snow-Veiled Trail Shrine, you need to take the left path with the rope bridge. At the end of this path, you’ll see a giant door with blue glowing particles that will let you enter the Great Pagoda.

Once you reach here, all the paintings on the wall will be complete (except 2). Head towards the blank wall in the center without a painting, you’ll see the child Buddha standing next to it. It will begin a cutscene and you’ll gain access to the Chapter 3 secret area, Mount Mei. This will lead to an interaction with Erlang Shen and start a boss fight with him and the Four Heavenly Kings.

After completing the boss fight, you’ll acquire the Azure Dome Spell Transformation. Now all you need to do is complete the game by defeating the final boss of Chapter 6 and you’ll unlock the secret true ending of the Black Myth Wukong.
